Volunteers Needed for May Opening Preparations

Plastering-300x420Things are really coming together at the new Mission Valley Aquatic Center!

The pool area lights are on, the floors are finished, the walls are painted bright white… and guess what? Plastering crews arrived this week! They have been prepping the cement and putting in the final touches around the pool deck. Plastering is scheduled to begin tomorrow and we should have water in the pools by Monday!

As we hit the home stretch, we will be making every effort to “rally the troops” in preparation for an opening date in May. If you are available to help with cleaning, organizing, constructing storage shelving or any other facility prep, please join us at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 for a volunteer meeting.

In other news, Annual Swim Passes are still available to purchase online. Take advantage of the early bird special by purchasing before May 1. A class schedule will be posted soon, which will include child and adult swim lessons, water aerobics, open and lap swim, master’s practices and a competitive swim club.

Don’t forget the Mission Valley Aquatics monthly board meeting is on Monday, April 22 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson. We’d love to see more members of the community attend these meeting — especially this one where discussion will focus largely on facility preparations and planning an opening event.
