Things you should know about Saturday’s event:

The Countdown is on!

We have just over 24 hours to go until the start of the Mission Valley Aquatics Fill the Pool Bowl by Bowl soup dinner & auction. Due to the recent shift toward winter weather at its best, we’d like to make sure you’re all prepared to be comfortable and have fun at this event.

Dress warm! The main event takes place under a tent, which has thick walls and six big propane box heaters, so we anticipate that it will be plenty warm under there. Still, you will likely be walking in and out of the tent and building all night, so we recommend you dress appropriately for the cold.

Wear comfortable shoes. Remember, this is still a construction site! The tent is set up on packed dirt and gravel, but it may get muddy or be uneven in spots, so the more sturdy your footwear, the happier, and warmer, your feet will be.

Bring a flashlight. Our parking lot is dark! We will have parking attendants with flashlights and a shuttle bus from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, which will drop off auction-goers at the door if their cars are parked further away. However, you may still need to walk a bit to your car, so a small flashlight, headlamp or cell phone would be nice to have. Also, PLEASE CARPOOL if at all possible. We have limited parking and a great turn-around drop-off area in front of the pool.

If you haven’t preregistered for your auction number, we encourage you to do so by following the directions listed HERE. You do not need an auction number if you are only coming for dinner. We will use the same computer software that will operate the facility once it opens, so it is absolutely safe and secure to pay with a credit card.

Bring cash! Even if you plan to use your credit card for larger purchases, be aware that you can still use cash for many smaller things throughout the evening and doing so will be quicker and easier for you and our cashiers. You can pay cash for dinner and drink tickets as well as bowl purchases.

Doors to the bowl gallery open at 4 p.m., so if you have your heart set on finding your personal bowl, please be there early. Also please understand that all bowls are first come, first served, so you may not get to take home the one you painted. All bowls are priced at either $10, $15 or $20, unless they were added to the silent or live auctions. We have many beautiful ceramic pieces, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Remember, you do not need to buy a ceramic bowl to have soup, there will be paper bowls available for anyone who has a dinner ticket ($10).

Soup dinner is served at 5 p.m. We will be serving soup at the far end of the tent. There are tables and chairs set up inside the tent, as well as additional places to eat inside the building. We expect a large crowd, so as much as we’d love to feed every person until they are satisfied, we may decide to limit soup to one bowl and one roll per person. We will also have light snacks and desserts, free of charge.

The silent auction goes from 4-8 p.m. We will be closing the silent auction before the live auction ends so that we can process the paperwork before crowds build at the register.

Live auction begins at 7 p.m.┬áThis is the one event you don’t want to miss! While we have many fantastic items in the silent auction, we really have some amazing selection in the live auction, too. Yes, we have big ticket items like a trip to Los Angeles, a one-week stay at a villa on the French Riviera, two weeks in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico or 10-days in Hawaii, but we also have many impressive items and weekend packages for those wishing to stay close to home.

We hope you come to the aquatic center tomorrow night (Saturday, Nov. 10) to help Mission Valley Aquatics raise funds to finish construction of the aquatic center. We really need you! Wouldn’t it be nice to warm the bones in our therapy pool on a day like this?

See you there!
