MVA Lifeguards to the Rescue!

Fourteen students braved Flathead Lake water temperatures last week for a 30-hour intensive Red Cross Lifeguard training course.

Between long hours in the classroom and brisk afternoon skills sessions on the lake, this dedicated group of future guards for the Mission Valley Aquatic Center put in the work to master the skills and ace the two written tests, thus earning Red Cross certifications.

We are so proud of this group and are looking forward to working with these great individuals when the pool opens this fall!

Check out some photos from the week:

Thanks to Polson Fire Chief John Fairchild for donating the fire station meeting room to our class and thank you to Mike at Polson Ambulance for allowing us to use his CPR mannequins and for donating resuscitation masks to our students!

Also a huge thank you to Jil Hendrix for taking the photos and volunteering her time to help with the course all week long!
